In this interview, Dr. Datta, a recently naturalized Indian woman, talks about her integration in Germany. She emphasizes that her employer Zalando has been instrumental in overcoming bureaucratic hurdles. Although she has heard about the increasing xenophobia in Europe and Germany, she has personally only had positive experiences. She praises Berlin as a multicultural and open city, which is also supported by the international composition of her team at Zalando.

The interviewer emphasizes how important immigration is for Germany in view of its ageing population and describes the often negative prejudices against foreigners. Dr. Datta, originally from India, deliberately chose Germany because of its good social security, healthcare system and educational opportunities. She explains that German grammar is similar to Hindi, which made learning easier for her. Her positive and adventurous spirit helped her to integrate well and she emphasizes that she is happy in Germany despite the challenges.
