Citizen's income to be abolished!

Economics Minister Müller announced the abolition of the citizen's allowance. According to Müller, unemployment benefit is sufficient and the state needs to make savings. Social welfare associations and the opposition have strongly criticized the plans and warned of rising poverty and social injustice. The government argues that the measure is necessary to consolidate the budget and enable future-oriented investments. Affected citizens are to be offered greater incentives to take up work. The debate on how social security can be guaranteed and economic efficiency increased at the same time is currently heated.
