Settlement permit 2024: All requirements with the new law!
From 2024, new requirements will apply for the granting of Settlement permit in Germany. The most important changes include stricter language skills requirements, extended integration certificates and higher income limits. Applicants will now have to prove that they have a B2 language level and successfully complete an integration course. They will also have to prove that they have a permanent employment contract and a higher minimum income to ensure that applicants are financially independent.
Furthermore, extended security checks and the presentation of a police clearance certificate are required to ensure the security situation. The minimum length of stay in Germany is also being increased to five years.
However, there are reliefs for students and highly qualified workers: They can be exempted from some requirements if they work in occupations where there is a shortage of skilled workers in Germany.
New rules also apply to family reunification: Spouses and children can now move to Germany more easily if they can prove that they have adequate accommodation and health insurance.
These changes aim to promote integration and ensure that people who want to stay in Germany permanently are well integrated into society and the labor market. Everyone should find out as early as possible in order to meet the new requirements on time.
