Do you get the Naturalization with a B2, C1 or C2 language certificate?

As a general rule, the minimum requirement for a Naturalization is the B1 certificate. However, with a B2, C1 or C2 certificate, Naturalization can also work after just 6 years. The important thing here is that you already meet all the other requirements for Naturalization . In this case, you can obtain German citizenship after just 6 years.

Language skills are an important proof of integration for Naturalization. In this way, you show that you are integrating in Germany and that you are learning and mastering the official language in Germany. You need German at B1 level to be able to express yourself and communicate in everyday life, at work and generally in life in Germany. For this reason, it is important to obtain a B1 certificate!
