What does migrando do?
Migrando supports well-integrated immigrant in Germany on their way to German citizenship. This journey in terms of residence law starts at the latest upon arrival in Germany and ends with the issuance of the German naturalization certificate. In this years-long and rocky path, Migrando first takes care of temporary or permanent residence permits before citizenship can finally be granted.
Until Migrando was founded, there was no German legal service provider that comprehensively took care of the residence law needs of well-integrated immigrant. Although the German state is responsible for such matters, it must be noted at the latest since the refugee crisis in 2015 that the approximately 450 foreigners authorities in Germany are completely overloaded.
Even simple procedures for obtaining residence permits and German citizenship take 2-4 years.
- About 50% of applications are unlawfully rejected due to the shortage of skilled workers in the immigration authorities.
- Because of the long processing times, there are practically no legal remedies against inactivity by the authorities.
- No or only limited admissions to the labor market
- Further education in the form of training and study is sometimes completely denied due to increased administrative burden
- Participation in the international labor market barred by residence law restrictions
- Delayed language acquisition, as no entitlement certificates for language courses are issued
- Freedom of travel outside Germany is severely restricted
- Family reunification is partly impossible for formal reasons
- Brain drain due to lack of residence security
- Restricted access to credit in Germany
Our bloated administrative apparatus results in numerous unnecessary restrictions for immigrant. Migrando aims to help committed immigrants overcome these hurdles.
Migrando focuses on well-integrated immigrants and helps them obtain German citizenship so that legal restrictions become a thing of the past.
An immigrant is legally considered well integrated if he or she:
- German mastered at least at B1 level
- Secures the livelihood independently (no receipt of social benefits)
- Has paid into a pension insurance scheme for at least 5 years
- No criminal record has
- Lives in Germany for at least 5 years
Millions of well-integrated people in Germany are so severely restricted in their right of residence that they leave the country. Skilled workers who either immigrated several years ago or were trained in Germany are leaving us because building their own future is being made unnecessarily difficult. Migrando wants to solve their residence problems and keep them in industries such as medicine, elderly care, crafts and IT.
